Training

Safety is Aerobot's #1 Priority. It is our responsibility to ensure you can comfortably and competantly understand your multi-rotor copter so that you can undertake standard operations in a safe and responsible manner.

We are aligned with the Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) to ensure "safe skies for all" and are currently creating a Remotely Piloted Aircraft (RPA) course which will be recognised by CASA to obtain your Controller Certificate.

We at Aerobot want to make sure that you are comfortable and confident flying your machine. This is why we offer a training course with the purchase of our Ready to Fly platforms that will teach you safe practices, controlled take-off and landing, evasive techniques, things to look out for and general operation and maintenance.

AeroSim Flight Training Simulator - Sent on receipt of deposit with pre-programmed controller (Postage is added to final invoice).

Whilst we are preparing, building, programming and testing your Aerobot, you are getting used to the 4 channel controls of your new machine. Remember, when first learning, hovering is the best thing you can do! It is easy to thrash the copter about on a simulator, but you wouldn't be doing that with the real thing. To get the most out of your training, keep it simple, and boring!

When your machine is ready for collection, you are invited to Aerobot Head-Quarters in Byron Bay for a general rundown, theory and practical training. If you would like to obtain your Controller certificate with CASA, you are required to undergo Manufacturer training. This training includes:

  • Introduction to LiPo Batteries, charging, usage and storage
  • Introduction to Radio - Switches, Charging, Usage
  • Flight Simulator - Exercises, Tips, tricks, Manuevers, Assessment
  • Introduction to Copter - What's what, Maintenance, Care, Operation
  • Practical Training & Assessment

Manufacturer training as required by CASA is included with the purchase of our ready to fly units. For additional pilots, there is an additional charge of $250 p/pilot.

Advanced courses will be available including training on First Person Video, GPS navigation, Carefree and Point of Interest.

Please see Safety and Operation for Pre-Flight check lists, General Care and Maintenance and Safety instructions.
